Re: Fan Reviews

? the puppet looks different, this is not a big deal really and maybe it is just me, but the sitcom ALF- looks more livelier. Look at his nose for an example, it is darker colour and more solid I guess (same thing with the puppet used in the DVD menus). In the sitcom ALF used to bend his face/nose ...

Re: It's official: Season 4 set now missing 2 episodes

I am confused with all that is going back and forth. I have yet to buy any of the sets myself, partially because my folks own a couple of them so I can watch anytime, and partially because I have been holding out in the hopes that uncut versions will be available. I am living in Washington state in ...

Re: Uncut DVDs

Well, I can't pretend to know German in the least, but I spoke with C-3PO (Google Translator) and this is what I got (see below) the only one I would bet any money on is the "released" translation, although the rest do make at least some sense. Could the "0" be the region code? I saw in at least one ...

Re: Episode Guide to season 1 for sale?

Just one thing to consider as far as the production order versus the airing order. A lot of times the network, for whatever ridiculous reasons, mix up the episodes from the original production order when they air them. A show like ALF that was pretty much self contained, meaning you could miss an ...

Re: How did the puppet work?

wow, I guess I managed to do the link right after all. Anyway, I just noticed that there was another portion I forgot to paste explaining the mechanics of ALF. this part we already covered here but I wanted to include it just to be thorough. ***In total, 102 episodes were made and ran from 1986 to ...

Re: How did the puppet work?

AT LAST!!!!!!!! After painstaking research, this is the most complete explaination i have found regarding the inner workings of our beloved fury alien pal. I found this a few minutes ago. I don't know how to make this a link, so I will just cut and paste and hopefully you all can do the same. http ...

Re: ALF loves a mystery

Yeah, it seems the further back I try and remember, the better my memory is. Ask me what happened five minutes ago and I couldn't tell you. but go back twenty years and I'll tell you what happened and what kind of under-oos I was wearing at the time. The show I am refering to was actually on after ...

Re: ALF loves a mystery

Hey there. Not to fuel the "chat" fire here. I just thought that I would jump in with a couple of things. I seem to vaguely remember this special. It is possible that I have it on tape somewhere as my mom used to record all things ALF for me, with the exception of the Saturday morning cartoon. Not ...

Re: Uncut DVDs

What about starting a petition here on the site? I am not much of a computer guy and I must admit this whole inter-web thing still scares me from time to time, but would that be possible? Perhaps the more and more people that bug the crap out of lionsgate, the more they would be likely to do ...

Re: Problems with Project ALF

Project ALF really was good for what it was. It gave some closure to the series, as well as leaving things open for a possible new series. As with most shows/movies that have any real time period between series to movie some of the steam was just lost. The story wasn't bad at all, but it had been ...

Re: How did the puppet work?

That makes sense Gordo. Is that a theory? Or have you heard that confirmed? I mean it wouldn't be a problem for most shots I would think sense ALF usually stayed pretty stationary, but they did quite often have him move into the scene. A dolly or rail system would seem to make sense.

Re: How did the puppet work?

I haven't been on here in quite a while. Just checked in and was hoping that maybe the infamous video had been posted. No luck yet. Oh, well. Any theories anyone? the still pics that are posted a few posts back shed a little light on the mystery. I think my original theory must be close but I still ...

I remember noticing that when watching as a kid. I never thought too much of it as my own mother would occassionally go through a few months where she would wear her glasses daily then I wouldn't see them for ages, then she would wear them again. She is near sighted, as I am now. I often do the same ...

You never know, maybe they could do like with the latest release of the original Star Wars trilogy. They could have the uncut (lesser quality) episodes included as a bonus disc. They might still run into issues with the rights to songs that were played, but maybe most of the shows could be released ...
