Re: Uncut DVDs
Wow Im very excited over this and I'm from Canada!!! That cover art looks awesome! I almost like it better then the North American cover art. Finally a full season of unedited episodes on a legal DVD release. The fact that it is a region 2 release will be a problem for me because I don't have a region 2 DVD player. I'm still very excited about this release. As I have mentioned before, I really wish Warner Bros. could have released ALF on DVD in North America.

Re: Uncut DVDs

Re: Uncut DVDs
DVD players in different countries have different region codes. In North America we are Region 1. So that means this new ALF DVD release in Germany will not work in our DVD players unless it can play Region 2 DVD's.

Re: Uncut DVDs
Not sure about computers but the Xbox 360 will not. There is a way to get it to work on 360 but I am not willing to talk about that on the forum.

Re: Uncut DVDs
As far as I know, computers (at least mine) are able to switch among region codes a limited number of times whenever you play DVDs with different region codes on it. After that, they are stuck with one region code and won't be able to play others.

Re: Uncut DVDs
Personally, I find the planned release of German "ALF Season" (original episodes) DVD interesting, but I am nowhere near ecstatic, since the DVD is not intended for USA distribution.

Re: Uncut DVDs
Yes they are. On the North American release episodes would run from 20-22 minutes. So everyone who can get a hold of this new release is getting the real deal.

Re: Uncut DVDs
is there any news articles from warner about this release?
i would love to read up more on this topic.
and also, what does all these numbers mean here:
Languages: German DD 2.0, English DD 1.0, French DD 2.0, Spanish DD 2.0, Czech DD 2.0
why is english 1.0 not 2.0? whats the difference?
