Hey, thanks ALFanatic and melmacian56. Yeah, I understand the rules now. And thanks for telling me about the legal information on emulators. It's useful! :D

Re: ALF Computer Game

Time to bring an old post back from the dead. Here's a link to play the ALF Sega game online.

http://mastersystem8.com/game/17/alf/

I'm attempting to figure out a way to download the flash game, so I can put it on this website, but have not had any luck. Anyone know how to do this? Any advice would be appreciated.

I just tried out the link and the game runs at a terribly slow speed.

Since I have never played the game and do not have a point of reference to base the speed...however, on my end the game speed seemed normal enough.

I have high speed internet and its working fine. For some strange reason the game runs slow. ALF moves slow and the music is very slow.

Would love to play, but won't until I get the real game and play it on my future Sega Master System. I think playing online takes the fun out of it.

This game would be cool playing online if it didn't kill me every time I tried playing it haha The controls on the keyboard are confusing but the game itself is pretty awesome

Hey all,
If anyone is interested in finding any of the old ALF video games, I have been doing research for the Wiki and have found that at least seven ALF games have been produced (actually one of them is not so much a game, but a print program). The Sega game appears on E-bay regularly. The IBM/PC games are much less common, but do occasionally appear on e-Bay and other websites dealing in secondhand computer games. Unfortunately, even if you do buy them, they will be on floppy disks, so hopefully you will have some way of transferring them to your computer. Since old DOS games don't always run very well on Windows, I would suggest using the DosBox emulator, which is a free program which I've had a lot of success with for running old DOS games.

For a list of titles and some box pics and screen sheets, go to:

Has anyone ever actually beaten that game? I find it way too hard. I don't think I've even gotten past the second level. I may have gotten to the third level once, but never to the fourth.

I have made it to the 3rd level and from there it gets very, VERY hard! If you play the game in DOSbox you can adjust the game speed if you find it runs too fast on your operating system.

We should start a contest to see who can beat it first. I've always wondered what happens at the very end, when all the spaceship parts are collected.

I got the craving to play the computer game the other day so I decided to load it up on my laptop. I came to realize a terrible problem. My laptop contains the 64-bit version of Windows 7. Old games like ALF cannot run on 64-bit Windows 7 from all the trying I have gone through. It appears the coding in the 64-bit version of Windows 7 is just way, way, way too advanced for old games like ALF. I tried multiple methods to get it working but came up unsuccessful. I fear that in the next generation of operating systems, games from the 80's and some from the 90's will not be able to run successfully :(

If you have a 32-bit version of Windows 7 it is still possible to run the game which is good news.

Did you try using DOSbox to play the game? It's a freeware DOS emulator.
http://www.dosbox.com/

I have 64-bit Windows 7 and I've been able to play all the old ALF games with DOSBox. The syntax for getting the game running is a little bit old school, so if you have any questions about it, just let me know.
