Facebook Share Button

You will now notice that every topic on the forum has a Facebook "share" button underneath the title - I finally found the time/ambition to figure out the code to add it. This of course goes along with the need for the forum to be more involved on Facebook - I'm hoping that visitors will share certain topics from time to time (since it only takes the click of a button).

I'm also in the process of doing this on every page of the website, as well as adding "like" buttons so visitors can instantly subscribe to the Facebook page. Website visits have plateaued over the last year or so, and this is the next logical step to boost the number of visitors (and something I probably should have done a long time ago).

Any questions/concerns/input always welcome.

Cool. Just promise you'll never remove this forum and have it "live on" on Facebook instead. I've seen other forums closing down because "we use Facebook to talk instead" which is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. It's just not the same thing.

You have my personal guarantee that it (moving the forum to Facebook) will never happen. No one can guarantee how long Facebook will be around (look at MySpace), and I can't imagine losing all of that information! Plus, anything posted becomes the property of Facebook. It may be a good short-term solution in terms of getting more traffic/participation, but in the long run it doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I consider this forum part of the website - the wealth of knowledge people have shared over the years really amazes me.

This is a great idea! I can imagine this could definitely help bring more people to the forum.

Good idea, I should do that to my site at some point too. Great to keep the forum and FB separate though, nice to hear
