Whereas I would love to have access to unedited versions of the original ALF episodes, be advised that YouTube can shut down your channel for posting copyrighted content. I know Lion's Gate has had some episode videos removed. For some reasons others don't get removed. The process whereby YouTube monitors this content is still a mystery to me, however it seems that short clips seem to be okay, but full episodes are frowned upon.

I would perhaps suggest instead that you just post the deleted scenes to your channel. As these scenes do not appear in the syndicated versions distributed by Lion's Gate, the may (???) not have copyright control of them (or maybe they do, I don't know). Either way, I would guess that you would stand a better chance of keeping the YouTube channel from being shut down if you did this instead of posting full episodes.

Of course, it's totally up to you.

I expect to get shut down. There have been episodes in 8-min spurts posted and you are right. YT picks and chooses which videos they decide to block. We will see.

Posting the deleted segments is probably the best bet.

Maybe you can help me with a question that I've had trouble answering....

On the episode "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," Trevor is playing the radio in the kitchen and wakes up the family. He tells the Tanners, "This was me and Raquel's favorite song. Boy, that Sinatra could sing..." Then Willie says, "Sinatra? That sounds like Pink Floyd." To which he responds, "I know that, Willie. I was making two separate comments."

In the DVD version and in the taped version my parents had (which was probably during a rerun), there is some unknown (not Pink Floyd) song. Could you check your tape and see if you can identify the song? Or post the lyrics you hear and I can identify it?

I think You Tube/Lions Gate looks for episodes titles or SE1EP8 tags.
I had to call my episodes of ALF's Hit Talk Show, AHTS 1 when uploading otherwise they were removed.

I guess the downside of that is that it can't be searched but I found its the only way to keep full episodes up on You Tube but always runs the risks of being taken down if the studio doesn't approve.

Hi samstokes80 - unfortunately, I do not have the original broadcast of S3 E3 'Breaking Up is Hard to Do'. I started to taper off by S3 because they had made ALF so family-friendly and he had lost that rough edge that made us like him so much during S1.

Hi all - samstokes80 definitely called this one. LionsGate has somewhat blocked several of the episodes I have uploaded, but only in the U.S. or U.S. territories and Canada. The way around this is to set your YT location to a different country and you will be fine.
