ALF Dolls collector's item

I'm looking to buy a ALF doll for my birthday as a huge start for my collection I know the longer you hold on to a classical collection of anything it will be worth a lot when some decide to sell. How do I get my hands on a medium sized ALF that is about the size of a medium sized ruler?

ebay is a good place. I have seen alf dolls on there that are 18 inches tall.

Well I saw those but by the time my birthday comes around they will all be going to the Hughes bidder and right now I can't afford to bid but I did find one for 37 bucks I put it to the side for later my birthday is in September the 17th .

Does anybody know the cost rate of what an ALF doll was worth back in the mid 80s to 90s to the more reason why getting one now online would be so high. I mean, I understand that it is a collector's item now and nobody plays with the ALF dolls but, why not make it easiler for people whom want to get their hands on one of those cute little ALF dolls.
