ALF GARAGE THEME IN MY HOME WORKSHOP.
Hey everyone thought I would share with you a project I have undertaken to build an area in my shed to replicate the Alf workbench and doorway from the original garage in the show where Alf is seen on a regular basis. I am about three weeks away from finishing it. Hopefully someone can explain how to post photos to this forum. The idea was to have my home workshop look the same as in the show but due to limited room I was only able to build one corner, bench and doorway. Just finding the wall panelling to match was a job in itself. I havent seen anyone else on this forum build any house or garage replicas etc so thought I would do something different. Hope to share photos in a couple of weeks.

I can't wait to see this! Are you going to have a shortwave radio, a telescope, and an old monochrome computer?

Re: ALF GARAGE THEME IN MY HOME WORKSHOP.
Hey there everyone I finally finished my ALF workshop replica and have included some photos.
Originally I wanted to do the whole area exactly the same as in the show but I was limited by the room I had, you will notice that I didnt try to replicate the windows in the big doors, I made up the frame to add in later to look like windows above but thought it might look a little silly to visitors, I haven't told anyone of what my workshop was designed from as I wanted to keep it to myself and to those on this forum as it is my little place of salvation.
I am really happy with how it came out and the colours match up really well compared to the show, hopefully the photos capture this for everyone. It really feels like the ALF set when i go into the workshop now.
I also put the blind on the door as you can see in one of the photos and under the main bench the timber slides across to allow access to shelves underneath.
There are a couple of slight differences to the Alf garage set on the show but I had to make things practical for everyday living out there.
One thing I did notice whilst building the area was how in the original show the benches had to be shorter to accommodate ALF's physical size, the door handle was low to suit Alf's height also. This is obvious when you see Willy out there.
I really enjoyed doing this Alf workshop and it is a nice feeling working in there knowing I now have a little part of the show surrounding me all the time.
My only other wish would be to know that Paul Fusco saw these photos and know he has some dedicated fans out there.
Hope everyone enjoys!

Awesome stuff! It would feel unreal to be in that room in the beginning, I think.

Thanks for the feedback guys, yeah it is great having the area now that it is finished, love getting out there! I would encourage others to build there own workshop its really worth the effort.
Re: ALF GARAGE THEME IN MY HOME WORKSHOP.
After seeing the pictures of the exterior house in the current "The tanner house exterior" topic I thought I would open my old forum of my shed pictures for those who haven't seen.
