ALF is coming back to TV!

Post by melmacian56 »

MAJOR NEWS!!!!!!

Entertainment Weekly has dropped a bombshell tonight. ALF is returning to TV courtesy of Warner Brothers!! Very little details have been revealed but Tom Patchett and Paul Fusco will be on board. It's looking like ALF might be landing with a new family. It's a moment a lot of us thought we would never see! You can read the reveal in the link below. I'm going to assume the ALF movie has been scrapped?

This has been confirmed with both Paul and Linda Fusco. Looking forward to getting more info from them in the future!

So awesome! I have wanted this for years and now with the 80's revival at its peak it seems like no better time to bring back our favourite Alien, he will have so much to say about the world today (thats providing its not set in the 80's which would also be great!)

I do wonder if it would be better on Netflix or a streaming service where ratings wouldn't matter as much and maybe 12-16 really good episodes would be better then 22 episodes on a network but hey its early days and im very happy he is back. I will be following the progress on this closely and excitedly.

ALF is back!!!

A buddy of mine tagged me in a post about this and I had to make sure it wasn't a joke! I was just talking about how I was disappointed that the movie never materialized but I'd be so much more excited to see a new show!

Still so shocked about this! We've been excited before when ALF's been on a commercial or had a small appearance on other places, but a new show? A dream come true couldn't begin to describe how big this is for us. Unreal, just unreal.

So excited!!! I hope they address the Tanners though because we never got real closure after Project ALF

Seconded! Never liked how they treated them in Project: ALF, with just a throwaway line about them being relocated to Iceland.

Agreed. Let's hope they give us some more on the Tanners besides some military man saying that they're now in Iceland.

This is great! I wonder if it will be like he lands on earth all over again or if he has been here for 30 years already and moving into a new family.

Well that was short lived. Really sad news but I kind of saw this coming. Seems like every time we hear there's a comeback, it gets squashed.

It's being reported by multiple sites stating that there has been no network interest. While not official, I would believe it because it doesn't have the same pull most reboots do.

Even when it was reported to be in development, it was very early in.

Oh, COME ON! Damn it! Say it ain't so? 80's is SO in and you don't get more 80's than ALF, so it would be weird if no network is interested. I hope this isn't 100% over.

Is there any chance you could list those sites? It's not that I don't believe you it's just that I only found the one and I'm like to read it for myself

https://geektyrant.com/news/the-alf-reboot-is-dead

Those are a just a few (not including the first source I referenced) but they all reference a TVLine Q&A in which they said "not moving forward after failing to attract a suitor".

https://tvline.com/2018/11/08/veronica- ... -season-4/

While I hope this is not the final word and even the source is not official, I do believe that this could be true. I really only saw a place like Hulu or Netflix as a possibility. I don't think it would do well on a network station.

I would pitch it to Amazon. Amazon did the great idea of making pilots of 3 shows (including The Tick) and let fans vote to decide if they would pick it up for a full season. If The Tick can find life and even be renewed for a 2nd season, which I do enjoy, I feel like ALF would have a great chance.
