By being cheap and not including the ORIGINAL episodes? Wtf? How come overseas they can, but here, the uncut will likely never see the light of day again?

Why did they use the edited episodes? It's probably because of licensing fees. ALF features scenes that feature licensed content including music, song lyrics and other licensed content. It's why a lot of TV shows on DVD have edited episodes. The companies releasing this stuff don't want to pay the licensing fees associated with the content because it's very expensive and not financially feasible.
I was hoping with Shout acquiring the rights to distribute ALF content that they would have solved the issue of syndicated episodes but unfortunately that's not the case. That's not to say it couldn't happen. I'm a fan of Shout Factory and own a lot of their movies and TV shows on both Blu-ray and DVD. I do think they have some neat merchandise planned down the line for us ALF fans. Whether we ever get the original unedited episodes remains to be seen. I'm not going to get myself excited over that.

The episodes should be uncut on Amazon / I-Tunes now in their shinny new HD makeover.
