ALF's Laugh

Post by ALF »

This is something I've been thinking about for a while, and I am sure some of you have noticed it as well.
On the sitcom, ALF's signature laugh sounded like this: "HAAA! HAAHAHA!"
However, on recent DVD menu appearances, it sounds more like this: "Aaah!"

And that's it. Nothing else. Just one "Aaah!" and he's done with the pun. Has Paul Fusco's aging contributed to this in some way? I'd love to know.
I don't know about you guys, but I personally preferred the old laugh way better. Thoughts?

That laugh was SUCH an important part of ALF`s persona, and character, the show could have been so so different without it.

It almost forces you to laugh with him, and helped endear us all to his sense of humour.

Getting older myself, it get`s harder to laugh the same way, you did when you were younger, and given Paul is now in his 70`s,
I wonder if he still laughs like ALF now and then, when he hears, or sees something funny ?

I`d hope now and then, an ALF laugh slips out of him, and reminds him of just how iconic that laugh is !

Thank you for reviving an old thread back from the dead! I had completely forgotten I started it all the way back in 2008. A lot has changed since then, including ALF's laugh!

Hi ALF !

Aaaawwww...as I typed that, I thought of Benji in the opening credits, and now I`ve made myself sad :(

Bumping a 15+ year old thread, would get you banned on some forums I read, hope when Admin see`s it, they`re in a good mood ! :D :D

I`m up to the Christmas Special in S2, and have never noticed a change in his laugh before, so I`ll keep an ear out for it !
