MMOEXP : Elden Ring retains the strategic openness

Post by Ludwighench »

As shown in the video below Iron Pineapple's quest for a new home ran into many dead ends, some of which led him to avenues that proved to be unproductive.

When the Godskin Duo in Crumbling Faram Azula gave even his leveled-up Ash problems, for instance, Iron Pineapple decided it was time to grab one of the most powerful summons in the Elden Ring Runes game: Black Knife Tiche. However, it would require him to be able to complete Ranni the Witch's quest in order to find Tiche's ashes. It wasn't until jumping over its many hoops and reaching the boss that unlocked Tiche Iron Pineapple that Iron Pineapple realized he couldn't call for help, thus preventing him from obtaining Tiche as well as rendering the whole trip worthless.

"I probably spent the most time on The Godskin Duo," Iron Pineapple revealed. "For some time, I was convinced that if I healed well enough and got lucky in my attack patterns, I could make it. But, of course, I employed the torch that causes sleeping instead."

It's not surprising that Iron Pineapple also used the Mimic Tear, which acts as a copy of your character. It stands on its own as one of the most flexible of Elden Ring's summons even after its nerf in the 1.03 patch. Iron Pineapple spent much of his time in a pacifist mode focusing on other sources of damage and when it came time to go to the extreme it was not easy not to notice the potential to craft a highly customized sidekick. In this way, he turned to making use of the Mimic Tear to defeat many of the challenging, end-game bosses.

"I had a feeling that the Mimic would be very strong right from the beginning, and I made the conscious decision to not to play it to ensure the variety," Iron Pineapple said. "It was a lot of fun to demonstrate the diverse niches and strengths of some of the summons in the game and approach the problems as puzzles to be solved instead of just gaining raw stats. Therefore, in the end, I was slightly disappointed with how powerful the Mimic still is even after the changes."

Iron Pineapple's pacifist run is another example of how Elden Ring retains the strategic openness of its Souls predecessors. With the right tools, techniques and resources available at your disposal you can beat the game by using almost every strategy available included in the book. There's a chance that you'll hit an obstacle there and then. Iron Pineapple sure did. If there's one thing to learn from a traditional elden ring items buy online playthrough, it's that everything can be overcome by being a bit stubborn.
