Thank you for cleaning things up !

A member was spamming ? I panicked for a moment, and thought "uh-oh, wonder if that was me"

Not sure if it would work, but is there a way for the forum to hide posts that have been reported a certain amount of times ?

For example - if a post was flagged by 3 different users, then it would be moved to an area where an Admin could review it, this could
then allow myself, Adeline & AlfAlfa_26 to mark posts as we read the forum, and get them shifted off the main page.

Of course, this could be something open to abuse, and might not work as intended, and all it would need is 3 new members to run
riot across the whole place, flagging everything, but just a thought !

Looks like there are a couple left - 1 in the cool websites forum, and 1 in the Alf TV Appearances forum.

Yep. I hoped that the software update that Admin mentioned in another thread was going to help, but apparently they found a way through. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

It all seems to be the same crap as well, and connected to sports in some way.

Minimum post count for starting threads might help, but also a thread for new members to ask questions, so they
don`t end up not being able to ask for help, or post genuine questions, due to restrictions to try and stop all this spam.

I also added a spam countermeasure that is available with phpBB. It's a simple Q&A (spell ALF backwards...so that should be simple for a real person). Hopefully this eliminates the final couple that make it through here and there.

When I got the DVD`s, and watched it for the first time in over 30 years, that was the first scene that made me pause the DVD !

I almost choked when he said it, and laughed so hard, I had to stop the episode, and calm down for a little while, before continuing !

And even now, if I hear in my head "No wait, those are my crayons" it still makes me laugh !

Wonder who came up with that line ? Was it the writer, or did Paul add it in there ?

The spammers are winning again, and this thread had 10 spam threads ahead of it in this forum !

Is reporting them all worth doing anymore ?

Is it correct to still call this place an ALF-forum? Or is it rather a forum for posts most likely containing phishing links?
It has become so frustrating that it just don't make any fun to come here and check if somebody has posted something anymore...
Even if there is not much new ALF-related stuff we could talk about everyday, I had hoped that the few of us who remained here could keep in touch with each other on a semi-regular basis...but I don't want to waste my time seeing all this rubbish every time I log in! We need a solution!

Agreed. It's become frustrating that, for a little bit of time, there was a resurgence on this forum of actual posts, but now it's all just spam. I check the forum every day, and every time I see a new spam thread on the active topics. There's got to be a way to stop it.

However, this is completely unrelated to the topic, but last night there was an ALF clue on Jeopardy. Again, completely unrelated, but I thought it was pretty cool.

Hope the Admin/Moderators are OK, it`s been a LONG time since they last checked in, and we`re being overrun with garbage.

And it`s the same topics, so blocking keywords in the main filter, would surely help stop them for a little while.

And each thread seems to be getting around 1K views, who reads that crap ?!
