No joy on ALF set?

Post by ALFicionado »

I read the People Magazine article on Kyle's site ALF4Life, and I was shocked on how there was reportedly "no joy" on the set between the actors. Max Wright was very eager to quit the show, after the last episode of season 4 he just disappeared without saying goodbye. Benji Gregory was happy to hear the show had ended etc. No one seemed to enjoy being on the show. And that makes me a bit sad. I mean I know it must be hard to work on those conditions and such, but still.

Anyone else also sad about this fact?

Actors are never happy. They complain when they are not working, and then they complain that they are working too much. Likely most of the cast became really unhappy when they started to experience the economic consequences of no more regular paychecks.

So, you mean they are mad for the show getting cancelled, and therefore not getting regular paychecks?

Since Liz Sheridan was only member of regular cast in the ALF TV series to go on to another regular "gig", although they may have not be unhappy at time the series was cancelled, the reality of not getting regular paychecks likely resulted in most of the cast eventually becoming unhappy about the series being cancelled.

I never knew that the actors were glad the show was over with. That is very sad to hear.

I've also seen that article and was very sad by it. I mean, did they just not fall in love with Alf or what? I would love to work with him, even if I didn't get paid.
I think that they were all acting a bit too snobby and not appreciating what they had.
