WTB: ALF Garbage Can

Post by Admin »

Hi - looking to buy an ALF garbage can. Will buy on eBay but I'd rather buy from a fellow member if someone has one for sale.

Thanks!

I've actually never seen of those before. Are they frequent on Ebay?

I remember owning one, but unforunately I have no idea where it is now. It had two photos of ALF on it, one was him at the table figuring income tax, or something. I can't remember the other one.

Yeah, I still haven't found one. I've seen a few on eBay but they are almost always WELL used. Whenever I find a near-new one I get outbid. Next bid I think I'm just going to put a max. bid of $100...that way I CAN'T lose...but then I might end up paying $75 for a garbage can (and the wife will NOT be pleased, lol).

You may want to try antique shops, flea markets, and comic shops (if you haven't already). You would be surprised what you can find in places like that. We have a comic shop in Columbus OH and that guy sells just about everything. Also, I frequent antique shops with family and I am amazed what you come across. Sometimes the prices are not as bad as you would think, either.

EDIT 6/8/07:
Specific link to eBay auction listing was removed, as per Forum Guidelines; however, be advised link was copied and pasted into PM to Admin, should he be interested.

Thanks Melmacian56 - I searched on eBay (since eBay link often become broken so they don't work posting on forums too well) and found it. I'll definitely keep it in mind if a new one doesn't pop up soon.

Thanks!!!

BUMP

Tomorrow marks the 1-year anniversary of me looking for an ALF garbage can. I've seen a few...but they have been in more than "used" condition. I'd prefer one that doesn't have any dents/dings in it.

:)

Happy Anniversary to me!!!

This is way late, but I used to have one in minty fresh condition. Over the years of being moved, things hitting it, and other stuff it has been destroyed almost.

I am after another one myself to add to the ever growing collection.

Yep - around $25 shipped for a can in good condition...I was expecting to pay more. Thanks again for sending me the links! :)

I'm actually thinking about using it as my office garbage can, but that may be a bit corny??? My students will think I'm strange (well...strangER).

I actually think that's a perfect place to have it! Who knows, it could get them to take interest and perhaps eventually become fans themselves! Definitely a conversation-starter.

I'm really late on this, but with a M/NM/VF trash can being almost impossible to find these days no way in the world would I let that thing out of a safe place like my house behind closed doors away from animals *better known as kids*.
