My New Fanfic!

Even though I only just started watching this show seriously a few weeks ago, I decided to try my hand at writing fanfic (I've done it before for other shows). The storyline I came up with is the one I mentioned in the "undone storylines" thread. I decided it was too good to waste, hehe. Basically, Brian and ALF convince Kate and Willie to let Brian take ALF to school for Show & Tell. Of course, ALF manages to cause trouble! (What else is new?) I don't want to give anything away, but expect to see a feline in the next chapter.

Belated welcome to the Forum. I clicked on your link out of curiosity, but without any great expectations, and now I must tell you that I was quite impressed with the comprehensive opening scene you have developed for your fictional ALF storyline.

Keep up the good work, taking your time not to overlook details or continuity, and remember to always insert "ALFisims" every chance you get. After all, it is an ALF storyline.

Have you thought of a "TITLE" for your fictional ALF storylline? As a suggestion, I would hope you might consider continuing with the custom of the ALF TV Series by selecting a Song Title.

Thanks, guys. You're really flattering me here, LOL! As for the title, I've named it "Show and DON'T Tell," as a play (of course!) on Show and Tell. As in, "Don't tell that he's an alien!" hehe. I pretty much have the fic charted out in my head, and chapter two is already in the works. Will def. post again and let you know when I've uploaded it at FF.

Great job! I got a good laugh about what Lynn said (quote is above. I also like your title. Titles for ALF episodes are named after songs, and it seems that yours fits - there are songs named "Show and Tell".

Again, good work. Keep it going! Possible additonal entry requiring Brian's need to request hasty bathroom break:

ALF became so exicited by cat on display that he squirted and wet Brian's pants.

Also, possible humorous ending to the scene:

Leaving the classroom Brian's toy (ALF) began to speak, "Here kitty, kitty, kitty."

I really liked your story too. You have a great set up and really get the characters right. It's like seeing it in your head, which all good stories do. Great job. btw, offtopic, we have the same signature. I didn't realize that until I just saw your posts. No problem though, I'll change mine to something else. Can't wait to hear the next chapter.

Constructive Comments:

As in your past posts introducing new Chapters of the Story, it would be helpful if your most recent post also included a link to Chapter #3.

Chapters #2 & #3:
Are you expecting the reader to visualize ALF as the rather "husky" alien we all know and love? If so, then ALF sitting in Brian's lap, or Brain being able to carry ALF, even in fiction, are unrealistic scenarios.

Chapter #3:
Last sentence of Paragraph #9 is incomplete in that it is missing either noun or pronoun for the children.

Yes, I know ALF would be hard to carry, I'm taking some creative license there. But I'm also setting this in Season 1 ALF hasn't been on Earth that long, so he prob. does not weigh as much as he does later.

Edit: I fixed the missing word from that paragraph. Thanks for pointing it out.
