I'm excited about it. I don't have any alf dvds, so this is a wonderful way to hopefully win some. Plus I really like the forum, so great job in getting people to join

How many people are in the contest now? Still 15? I'm so excited!

I agree. Awesome idea. I wish I had found out sooner. So what are we all up against here anyway? Is it really only 15 people? Will there be any updates as to who has the lead?

I think I read that they will start putting names in in august. It's really cool that jeremiah decided to do this, I meant to post this before, that it's really nice that you're doing that being it's your money and all.

It is really cool. I was just curious if they would have a running scoreboard anywhere. Might make it all more competitive.

That would be something to consider - but I think that would lead to a lot of "junk posting" - basically, people just posting whatever to get more entries in the contest.

Noooo - it's been great thus far. I was referring to people posting one-liners like "yeah" and "sure" and stuff like that.

Latest count is 23 people in the contest - that's over 1/4 of the forum membership! It was a much better turnout than I expected. With a week left, maybe we'll hit 25!

UPDATE

Here's how I'm hoping the next week will go.

August 1st - send out a mass e-mail to forum members with all user names entered in the contest (this way I can confirm that I did not accidentally miss someone in the contest)

August 2nd - count up everyone's posts and get them entered in "the hat" - too bad I don't have an ALF hat for this

August 3rd - do the drawings, I will post the winners here on the forum, send out a mass e-mail to the members, as well as contact them individually by e-mail

August 6th and beyond - send out the prizes!!!

Just wanted to let you all know what is going on - any questions please let me know, thanks!

As usual I am a little behind of where I wanted to be at this point. I am currently in the process of making all the slips for the names (I'm hoping to finish that sometime tomorrow - there's a lot of them!!!)

Here's a picture of my kitchen table at the moment...it's a mess!

I have my notebook (all the names and number of posts of people in the contest), the slips, a Puff's facial tissue box (might use that for the entries, not sure yet), coupons...oh, and my Census letter! My wife and I got a Census survey last week...not fun to fill out!

Oh, and can't forget my orange Kool-Aid!!!

I better have that cleaned up by the time my wife gets home from work...

The software probably exists, but I personally prefer to do it the old fashioned way.
