Hi - if anyone here wants an invitation to get a Gmail account (basically it's Google E-mail for those of you unfamilar with Gmail) I have 50 invites left. If you're a member of this forum and are interested in Gmail please send me an e-mail, private message, or respond to this thread and I'll send you one.

I'm really not sure on that one - I think that every few months they throw a few more my way.

About the 50 invites left and then 9, I'm not sure either. But I think that when Gmail was BRAND new, they were giving away a lot of free invites. For example, when I got mine in November, I started out with 100 invites. But when my younger brother got one just last month, he started out with something like 9 as well. I think that the Gmail Team might be changing the starting amount every now and then.

There's also another method to get your Gmail account, and that is to submit your cell phone number to Gmail.com. This way when you go to your cell phone's inbox, there will be an invitation code. You then type in this invitation code at the web page, and the account setup starts from there. I acutally find this method a lot more convenient, one of the reasons being that the whole process takes just about 5 minutes (not including choosing your username and password, etc.). Another reason is that the "Invite" feature doesn't always work. For instance when I was trying to get a Gmail account, my friend invited me. Days went by, and nothing came. Thus, I had to get my account the other way. The same scenario occured when I was trying to invite my younger brother.
